Virtual Oath Ceremony
Class Of 2020
For this incredibly resilient group of 120 young men and women, the culmination of their journey to DVM was not as anticipated. During Auburn University’s time of alternate operations, students transitioned from their on-campus routines to remote delivery of courses and clinical experiences mid-semester. No other group felt the impact of this change more than the Class of 2020, who navigated the abrupt disruption of their preceptorships and remained on course for the conferral of diplomas — by mail.
In lieu of a traditional graduation ceremony as originally planned for May 4, DVM graduates gathered virtually to participate in their Veterinarian’s Oath ceremony and toast their accomplishments.
Accompanied by their families and classmates, the graduates recited their Oath led by distinguished alumni and leaders of the profession, including ALVMA President Dr. Alan Jones and faculty members who were instrumental in their veterinary education.
Plans are being developed to hold a more traditional graduation ceremony on August 1, contingent on university guidelines related to public health circumstances surrounding the global pandemic.
